Reasons the Nikon D810 was selected for the Best Digital SLR Professional Award (summary of TIPA comments)
The Nikon D810 is a 36.3-megapixel DSLR with an FX-format sensor designed without an optical low-pass filter. The camera is capable of delivering full-resolution images at up to 5 fps with enhanced noise reduction in its ISO 64-12800 range, which is expandable to ISO 32-51200, and recording video in full HD. Nikon's Scene Recognition System with 91,000-pixel 3D Color Matrix Metering III provides balanced exposures, even under difficult lighting conditions, with AF, white balance, and i-TTL flash control included in the mix. For videographers, the D810 offers HDMI output, in-camera time-lapse and interval-timer capabilities, a built-in microphone with a selectable voice frequency range, full-time servo AF, and full manual control. The camera also has two card slots capable of handling both SD and CF memory cards.
Reasons the Nikon D5500 was selected for the Best Digital SLR Entry Level Award (summary of TIPA comments)
The compact D5500 DX-format DSLR is equipped with a 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, and delivers up to 5 fps at full resolution, as well as full-HD video with selection from four frame rates - 24p to 60p. It features Nikon's class-leading 39-point autofocus system, and its advanced 3D-tracking maintains focus on even the smallest subjects, however unpredictable their movements may be. The camera offers a sensitivity range of ISO 100–25600, and it is the first Nikon DSLR to be equipped with an 8.1-cm vari-angle LCD touchscreen. Ergonomically designed, its deep grip, light weight, and slim body ensure ultimate comfort. Nikon's wireless app can be used to connect the camera to a compatible smartphone or tablet wirelessly with no hot spot needed. Numerous creative modes allow the user to personalise the look and style of each image.

With a remarkable 60x optical-zoom (24-1440mm) NIKKOR lens that incorporates 4 ED elements and 1 super ED element, the Nikon P610 is capable of shooting at 7 fps (at full resolution) and recording full-HD video while utilising Nikon's 5-stop Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction.
