Technology that supports society through deepening expertise and taking on challenges

Since its founding, Nikon has strived to unlock the power of light to provide new value to society by developing a variety of products and services based on applied optics and precision technologies. Our semiconductor lithography systems have driven the evolution of semiconductor technology by pushing the limits of light and precision, greatly contributing to the realization of today's digital society. Our high-quality and high-performance cameras have changed the world's opinion of "Made in Japan" for the better and have helped develop the imaging culture. For more than 100 years, Nikon's continual technological advancement and diversification have made the invisible visible and the impossible possible through our microscopes, metrology instruments, binoculars, telescopes, cameras, lithography systems, and many more.

Under the new Medium-Term Management Plan starting in fiscal year 2026, we will build upon the previous plan, while aiming to become a key technology solutions company in a global society where humans and machines co-create seamlessly, toward 2030. We will continue to focus on developing our applied optics and precision technologies while also envisioning what society will be like after 2030, what the challenges will be, and what solutions Nikon can provide.

To develop technologies that bring greater value to society, it is important not only to deepen our expertise, but also to enter previously unexplored fields. I hope that all our engineers will continue to challenge themselves to solve societal issues, while further refining their areas of specialization. To achieve this, it is essential that we actively incorporate external knowledge and diverse perspectives, effectively exploring new ideas and possibilities. Through such initiatives, we will further expand the potential of applied optics and precision technologies.

In the value proposition fields of industry and quality of life, Nikon will continue to provide products and services that unlock a brighter future and contribute to the development of science and technology that will form the foundation for a prosperous society.
