Nikon to Support 14th FINA World Championships as Official FINA Partner

Nikon Corporation (Makoto Kimura, President) is pleased to announce its official partnership with the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) at the 14th FINA World Championships - Shanghai 2011 to be held from July 16 to 31, 2011 in Shanghai, China.

As an Official FINA Partner, the Nikon logo will be conspicuous throughout, appearing on men's bibs and at pool sides. In addition, Nikon Imaging (China) Sales Co., Ltd. (Hiroaki Kaneko, President) is now undertaking a pre-event campaign in China and will also conduct on-site promotion during the event to enhance the excitement of the championships.

Furthermore, for the professional photographers covering this event, Nikon Professional Services (NPS) will set up a service depot in the media center to offer support and services which include equipment inspections, cleaning, minor repairs and loan of equipment.

The FINA World Championships is a prestigious biennial aquatic sports event hosted by FINA, which has 202 member federations. It features 66 events in all five aquatic sports-swimming, open water swimming, diving, water polo and synchronised swimming and is recognized as an important event along with the Summer Olympic Games. This time more than 2,000 top competitors from some 180 countries and territories will participate in the Championships and as on previous occasions, it is sure to attract worldwide attention.

Nikon first partnered with FINA in 2007 and has supported the FINA World Championships and the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) held since then.
Because Nikon respects competitors, who are continuously challenging their own limits, and wants to enhance its presence worldwide, it will continue to support international sporting events.
