Nikon's video production subsidiary “Nikon Creates” begins operations and enters the imaging content creation business using cutting-edge technology

TOKYO – Nikon Corporation (Nikon) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Nikon Creates Corporation, (Nikon Creates) will handle the planning, shooting and production of volumetric and other video content, beginning operations on April 1, 2022.

As Nikon enters the imaging content creation business, it become the first Japanese licensed partner for Microsoft's Mixed Reality Capture Studios*1 (MRCS) and will utilize Microsoft Corporation's cutting-edge production technology to produce high quality 3D data output. Nikon's wholly-owned subsidiary, Nikon Creates will establish a video production facility equipped with the latest equipment and technology that is scheduled to open in Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo in the fall of 2022. The facility will offer their clients a variety of video production solutions by implementing technology to create and deliver volumetric videos*2 and virtual production*3 and other projects.

By providing imaging products to the market and offering places and opportunities for creators to expand their imagination and creativity, Nikon has contributed to the development of imaging culture. Now by utilizing cutting-edge technology for imaging content creation, Nikon Creates will co-create new video expressions with content creators. In this way, Nikon intends to deliver new imaging value in diverse fields, such as entertainment and advertising, thereby contributing to the further development of imaging culture.
