Peripheral Technologies
In order to realize the things and experiences that customers want in the most optimal way, technology that supports appropriate manufacturing is necessary. Nikon handles products using various production methods according to production volume, from custom-made to mass-produced products. The production process requires various technologies and equipment such as material synthesis, processing, assembly, adjustment, and measurement to ensure efficient production. In addition, consumer and industrial products have different usage environments and requirements for durability, safety, and cost, so inspection technology and quality control that can respond to these are important.
Industrial Engineering
Productivity can be improved by optimizing the production process from the perspective of 4M1I (Man, Machine, Material, Method, Information). We use scientific methods to analyze processes and work methods, quantify value and waste, clarify problems, and seek better ways. Nikon employs production methods suited to each product, and analyzes each process to create a cycle of productivity improvement.
Optical System Adjustment
Achieving high optical performance by simply assembling optical components is difficult. Therefore, we use Nikon's unique measurement technology to perform high-precision, high-quality adjustments to meet optical performance required for our various products.
In addition to achieving product performance, we also design processes that facilitate assembly a productivity perspective based on, ensuring that production processes and work are effectively realized.
This allows us to create products that meet QCD.
Visual Inspection
We aim to provide customers with high-quality products by incorporating visual inspections during the production process as part of our quality assurance. The appearance of optical components, in particular, affects product performance, making them delicate to handle. Nikon sets high standards for appearance quality.
We also conduct necessary inspections during the production process and provide feedback based on the results of these inspections, leading to process improvements.
