November 29, 2016
Nikon Corporation (Kazuo Ushida, President) is pleased to announce its official partnership with the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) at the 13th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) to be held from December 6 to 11, 2016, in Windsor, Canada.
As an Official FINA Partner, the Nikon logo will appear at the venue on photographers' bibs, the men's bibs and around the pool.
Furthermore, for professional photographers covering this event, the Nikon Professional Services (NPS) depot in the media center will provide support and services, including equipment inspections, cleaning, and the loaning of equipment.
In addition, the construction of the pool for this event will be recorded with Nikon's first action camera, the KeyMission 360, which is waterproof and capable of recording 360° video, and the images will be released on the Championships SNS. A cooperative promotional campaign encouraging visitors to take commemorative photos will be implemented at the Championships venue by the organizers and Nikon Canada Inc. to enhance the excitement of the event.
The FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) is a prestigious biennial aquatic sports event governed by FINA, which has 207 member federations. Exciting events featuring top athletes from around the world are expected.
Nikon first partnered with FINA in 2007 and has supported the FINA World Championships, and the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), ever since. Because of Nikon's respect for athletes, who continuously challenge their own limits, and its wish to enhance its presence worldwide, Nikon will continue to support international sporting events.
