October 30, 2015
The Vienna Branch of Nikon GmbH (Düsseldorf, Germany), a subsidiary company of Nikon Corporation (Tokyo, Japan), agreed to the payment of a fine of EUR 170,000 (approximately 23 million yen) in proceedings under Austrian competition law.
The Vienna Branch of Nikon GmbH has closely cooperated with the Austrian Federal Competition Authority (FCA) in its investigation on alleged resale pricing arrangements for some cameras with retailers in the past. As a consequence, the Vienna Branch of Nikon GmbH concluded the proceedings by way of settlement with the FCA to pay the above fine, which was later affirmed by the decision of the Austrian court. The court's decision has become final as of October 13, 2015.
