The 10-year Restoration Project aims to restore the coastal forest devastated by the Great East Japan Earthquake through seeding, seedling, and planting of black pine trees, in collaboration with the Association for Coastal Forest Restoration in Natori City, which is formulated by farmers in Natori, Miyagi prefecture. OISCA also strives to develop farm lands and create jobs for regional development.

Nikon Corporation endorses their project in Natori, which is a home of the consolidated subsidiary, Sendai Nikon Corporation (Jiro Saito, President, Miyagi), and will contribute 5 million yen to the project. Employees of Nikon group companies will also get involved in various volunteer activities including weeding, mowing, and cleaning for coastal forest restoration and preservation.

Furthermore, Nikon is committed to maintain its long-term restoration support by leveraging the "Assisting Reconstruction through Photography" for the people who suffered the March 11 disasters.

Nikon will donate two million yen to the programs in the Northern and Eastern regions of Thailand, Chainat Province, and Ayutthaya Province where flood-affected Nikon (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Nobuyuki Muraishi, Managing Director), our consolidated subsidiary, is located.
