About the EISA and EISA awards
EISA is the unique association of 50 major European camera, imaging, and audio magazines published in Europe. Each year, EISA chooses the best models released over the past year in Europe from a number of categories of imaging, audio, and mobile devices.
June of this year marks the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the Nikon F mount, the mechanism that forms the link between Nikon SLR cameras and NIKKOR interchangeable lenses. The mechanical form of this mechanism has not changed in 50 years and has been adopted for even the latest digital SLR cameras. Selection of the D3X for this award shows just how well Nikon's cutting-edge digital imaging technologies along with traditional optics and precision technologies have been received.
Throughout its long history of developing and utilizing optical and other advanced technologies for use in the development and manufacture of cameras and lenses, Nikon has taken its role in the capture of special moments, regardless of the age or situation, very seriously. By continuing to develop attractive products equipped with the latest in state-of-the-art optical technologies, Nikon hopes to increase the number of people who know the joy and thrill of capturing and sharing special moments by even one.
