It has come to our recent attention that the defect found on the power supply circuit board built inside the Nikon Eclipse LV series industrial microscopes. On very rare occasions, this defect may cause the lamp to extinguish and generate smokes. Ten such accidents have been reported to Nikon around the world.
Nikon is committed to safety and product quality and will replace, free of charge, the power supply parts of the affected models. Though our sales representatives will try their best to contact you as soon as possible, we appreciate your contact to your nearest Nikon representative or the customer service center shown below.
Please note that LV series microscopes are UL-approved products and thus, there is no risk of fire due to this default since the circuit board is covered with incombustible material and incorporated in a metal chassis. However, if you recognize any smoke emission or a lamp failure other than the lamp filament breaking, turn off the power at once and never turn on the product again.
