TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the introduction of the new AF Zoom-Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED.
This new lens was developed in response to the demands from low-end and mid-range SLR users for a more affordable, highly portable high-power zoom lens.
Thanks to an ultra-compact optical system with 62mm filter attachment size and three aspherical lenses, the AF Zoom-Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED is the lightest lens in its class.
While featuring 7.1x zoom capability, the new lens offers 0.44m closest focusing distance (at 200mm).
Superior optical performance is ensured by Nikons world-renowned optics in the form of three ED (Extra-low dispersion) glass and three aspherical elements, along with high-grade Nikon Super Integrated Coating (SIC).
The lens adopts the Internal Focusing (IF) design and offers a rounded diaphragm opening that makes out-of-focus objects appear more natural.
This G-type Nikkor lens is designed with no aperture rings, and offers easier, virtually mistake-free operation because the aperture does not need to be set to minimum.
Note: G-type Nikkor lens is fully compatible with the F5, F100, F80, F75, F65, F55, D1-series and D100 cameras.
