Announcement of Cash Dividends for the Fiscal Year Ended March 31, 2008

This is to announce that Nikon Corporation resolved at the meeting of Board of Directors held on May 12, 2008 concerning the year-end dividends as of March 31, 2008. This agenda will be proposed at General Shareholder's Meeting which is scheduled to be held on June 27, 2008.

  1. Reason for dividend
    Nikon 's basic dividend policy is to improve the reflection of business performance based on paying a steady,continuous dividend, as well as expanding the investment for future growth and strengthening of competitiveness. According to the above policy, Nikon set the year-end dividends at 13.5yen per share, an increase of 2 yen from the latest forecast. As a result of this increase, cash dividends for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008 will be 25 yen per share, an increase of 7 yen from previous fiscal year.
