AFC Champions League & Nikon

2010 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers & Nikon

Nikon is conducting the Nikon Field Photographer Program to provide opportunities for parents and children to feel the excitement of football by taking photographs in games held by the AFC (Asian Football Confederation).

In this program, three local parent and child pairs, a total of 6 people, are being invited to selected games where they are given the opportunity to photograph the players practicing from the sidelines or behind the goal with Nikon D60 digital SLR cameras before the games start.

In 2008, this program has covered a total of 17 games in 8 Asian countries during the ACL (AFC Champions League) 2008 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup Asian final qualifiers.

The participants have made various comments on the program, such as:
"I could take lots of photos of my favorite players myself, and it was great!" (China PR)
"It was my first time to see football players so close up, and it made me so excited. The view of supporters in the stands from the pitch was stunning." (Thailand)
"It was great to actually walk on the field and get so close to the players." (Australia)
"It was a totally new experience. I enjoyed using Japanese cameras and taking photos." (Korea Republic)
"I was like a real professional photographer, and I loved it." (Japan)
"I like to work in this program, because now I know how the photographers
work, and in the future I want to be a photographer."(Qatar)
"To perform photography in a stadium with so much crowd around is once in
a lifetime experience."(UAE)

Nikon, an official supporter of the AFC, will continuously promote this Field Photographer Program for football events held by the AFC to provide opportunities for football supporters to feel the excitement of football at stadiums across Asia, and to contribute to Asian football and regional societies.
