| 15-16.August Popantanko Festival | Performed at appointed forest, 240 kilometers northeast of Lhasa. Prayers walk around the holy stone, which once the goddess landed on. The goddess mede the woods into forest, and the water into river. Performed once in 12-year cycle. |
| 17-18.August Namtzo Festival | Performed at Namtzo Lake of world highest altitude, 5000 meters, in the year of "sheep" which comes once in 12-year Asian calendar cycle. Held throughout a year, mainly in summer. |
| 27.August~ Shoton Festival (known as:yogurt festival) | Started in 11th century. In 17th century, it was a religious custom for Buddhist priests who concluded the ascetic exercises, local people served them yogurt (hence the common name). After 17th century, visitors enjoy Tibetan opera performances at the festival, and the festival is now the representative of Tibet culture. Performed annually at Drepung temple and Sera temple. |

| Butter-tea | A soup-like drink of Tibetans and Asian nomads. Carve a solid of fermented tea leafs, boil, and mix with yak-milk butter or sheep-milk butter and salt (sometimes with milk). |
| "throwing oneself on the ground". (five body parts on the ground) | A way to show earnestness to Buddha by putting five body parts (head, both arms and legs) on the ground. Maybe the hardest ascetic exercise of Tibet Buddhism. First, put two hand palms together, then bring it before head, mouth, and chest, and lie a body on the ground while stretch both arms. Advance forward by repeating this procedure. Some prayers repeat this from home to the holy place. |

| Potala palace | Where a goddess is. Construction started in 7th century. Building is extended to 360 meters wide, 117 meters height, 13 stories. Registered as the world heritage. |
| Jokhang Temple | Construction started in 647. The oldest temple in Tibet and the holiest one in Lhasa. Many people throw themselves on the ground at the entrance. |
| Barkor | A loop road around Jokhang temple. Many shops are on the road. |
| Tsampa | Popular food of Tibetans. Made of qingke(barley), one of the few agricultural product of Tibet. To eat, add cheese or sugar, pour butter tea, and make it into dumpling. |
